About Me I am, first and foremost, an author. Not published yet, but eventually. Go ahead, ask me about my writing. You know you wanna!

Then, in no particular order: An actor, a friend, a designer, a geek (theatre and literature), an unofficial therapist, a shoulder to cry on.

Overall, my personality and values can best be described as that of a Happy Puppy: I love being able to make people happy and to make them laugh; I value loyalty and honesty and strive to be both of those things; I like to be a comfort to others when they are feeling down, and I like the comfort I get from others when I feel down. My bark is worse than my bite, but that bite is still something to be wary of.
Music I like a lot of things, but I don't care for most country-western or any hip-hop/rap. Jimmy Buffett, Rasputina, and David Bowie are always being played at one point or another, with Elton John sneaking in on occasion. My sewing music includes the Best of Bowie, Jimmy Buffett's Feeding Frenzy concert CD, the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack and the orginial cast recording of The Scarlet Pimpernel.
Movies I love period pieces; so much so that most movies in my collection are set before 1980, with only a handful set in the 1900s at all! I'm willing to try almost anything, genre-wise, and my tastes are wide and varied. Favourite movies include: Some Like It Hot, the Court Jester, Ever After, Gone with the Wind, Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, and Pride and Prejudice. I recently saw 300 and LOVED it!
TV House, Good Eats, The Avengers, Robin Hood (on BBC America-*swoon*) Numb3rs, Diagnosis: Murder.
Books Jane Austen! I love Jane Austen, such wit! Other favourite authors include Neil Gaiman and Mercedes Lackey, Shakespeare and Marlowe. I honestly "Squeee!"'d when I found a copy of Choderlos de Laclos' Les Liaisons Dangereuses at the EMU bookstore...
Likes Writing, creating art (painting, collage, sculpture), decorating, designing. Reading and sleeping. Acting, Drama, Comedy. Being around people, especially new people. Animals.
Dislikes Rudeness, meanness, malicious manipulation, purposely stupid people, being alone for extended periods of time. Inconsiderateness. Stepping in cat puke, fish.
Hobbies Writing, sewing, reading. Acting. Entertaining.
Vices Good food, good company, bad movies. Laziness, a penchant for drama.
Virtues Sense of humour, sense of honour, spelling ability. Patience and kindness.
Heroes The people who have found a way to do what they are passionate about.
    Here For Friendships

    I made it.

Okay, so going from living alone to living with six other people (soon to be eight semi-permanent residents and one family of four visiting) has been accomplished, but not without some stumbling blocks. One housemate is a piece of work in the sense that my sister is a piece of work, and if you have ever heard me talk about my sister, you know how much work that is.

I have been fantastically busy of late between applying for and interviewing for jobs, watching the aforementioned housemate's child (part of why she, the housemate, is a piece of work), and being *gasp* social. I hope to have a job by the end of the week.

I'm tired, I'm cranky, and I need to do laundry.

Oh, and the fabulous little Saturn?  It's dying.  As it turns out, the A/C does not work, and there's really no chance of fixing it because the underside is so rusted.  The mechanic I took it to down here said that it's so bad that if he had been consulted prior to purchase, he would have advised against it.  *heavy sigh*

    So...

Come April, if I have not found a new job in Michigan, I will probably be relocated somewhere else in the Daktronics infrastructure. No, they are not going to make me a permanent fixture in my current office. "They," i.e. Corporate, want to make my position a kind of revolving door for students: six months in the office, then out into the "real world" or whatever. Yeah, this really sucks.

Right now it's looking like I'll be going to corporate headquarters in Brookings, South Dakota, where, as C said from her recent trip: "There are cows." Yes, C, there are cows. And not much else. Now, too, there aren't any employable people in Brookings, either. I have other options, however: There are currently (at least) two office coordinator positions open elsewhere in the country: Seattle, WA and Miami, FL. I have family and friends in both places (kinda), and God knows I don't want to go to South Dakota.

This is going to be interesting.
