Well, it appears that Renspace ate my profile again.
Good thing I'd been thinking of redo-ing it anyway.
Still... *sigh*

Oh, for a Mountain of Drama
Thursday, June 7, 2007, 01:46 PM [General]
I tend to generate the Amusing kind of Drama. Yes, I make like Chicken Little for a little while, running around clucking about the sky falling, until someone gives me a good shake and tells me to calm down. So, this week's been fun, with Tuesday being the best day. I hadn't slept well the night before, having had this crazy, being-chased-by-and-having-to-fight-off-a-knife-weilding-psycho kind of dream at about 4:30 a.m., and then sleeping in just a skosh when I needed to be in to work early. That didn't happen either, since on my way to work a nice lady honked at me and said my rear tire was flat. I would've changed it myself, indeed almost had the tire off when I found that one of the lug nuts was the wrong size for my wrench and had to put everything back together. An hour and a half later I was at work and blinking exhausted, to the point where instead of eating lunch I went and slept in my car. Nice, long, half-hour nap, which was just enough to get me through the rest of the day. The rest of the day consisted of my doing busy-work for Kristen and feeding her kid, who is brought into the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Will keep my thoughts on that private for now. Anyway, after that, I ran home and had a sammich and some cheese (note the lack of capital C, ladies... *wink*) before running out for the PBS promo, which was fun because nobody could call in. The phone lines were down until about half an hour before we ended. So I got to chat and goof around with people, and Aaron gave me my gift from Paris (a lovely leather-bound notebook, which is refillable!) which I have been petting for a whole day now. Preetttty... It was yesterday morning, as I was leaving for my fun job, that I realised that my life would be very boring if I was someone else. Tags:
Curse you, Barnes and Noble!
Thursday, May 31, 2007, 12:03 PM [General]
Add this to the great list of Things Not to Do When One is Depressed and Tired: Go shopping. Last night, after finding that I had a tidy little sum leftover from paying my rent, I checked my email and found a notice from Barnes and Noble. Certain DVDs are Buy 2, Get 1 Free. There have been a few titles that I've been meaning to get on DVD, since the VHS copies are wearing out, so I go hunting. Of course the ones I REALLY want are either not included in the offer or just plain aren't carried by B&N, but I was still able to get a few good (read: fun, not necessarily good) films that have been on my "to buy" list for a while. I ordered: Attila (with Gerry Butler... yum.), Excalibur and The Court Jester. Now just to be patient while they ship... Ooh, and I've found that I like B&N better than Amazon for this reason: Both have the Free Shipping option on certain merch, but Amazon has a 3-8 day option, which tends to be the 8 days, while B&N is 3 days or less! One more thing... the final cost of these three movies, with tax? $29.66. Even when I'm in a pissy, must-have-retail therapy mood, I can limit myself! *grin* Tags:
Yee-haw!

*dance* I have found my fabric! I have found my fabric! And I got it really cheap! 10.5 yards of pale blue jacquard found at $3 a yard (yes, three dollars!) this morning! And it's mostly cotton, if not all... Now, to make sure our costumer approves it (shouldn't be too difficult) then on to sewing! *can die happy* Tags:
Ahhh, life.

Been a while since I've posted, so I figure it's as good a time as any. I'm dogsitting, and the beast is currently occupied with trying to extract all the peanut butter from his Kong toy. This past week has been...crazy, to say the least. Looks like it's going to be that way for a while. Suffice to say I'll be job hunting again in the very near future, and Michigan isn't the best place right now to be looking. I'm going to kick back tomorrow, have a margarita or two, and try to get some writing done. That is, if Bandit will let me. Tags:
